Hershel "Woody" Williams Medal of Honor Foundation

Hershel "Woody" Williams is the last surviving recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor from the Battle of Iwo Jima, where his fellow Marines – to include Franklin Sousley of Fleming County, Kentucky – famously raised the Flag atop Mount Suribachi. Woody is also the last surving U.S. Marine Medal of Honor recipient from all of World War II.

The Hershel Woody Williams Congressional Medal of Honor Education Foundation, Inc. was established in 2010. With the assistance of the American public and community leaders, the Foundation establishes permanent Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments in communities throughout the country and provides scholarships to eligible Gold Star Children. Its' purpose is to honor Gold Star Families, relatives, and Gold Star Children who have sacrificed a loved one in the service of their country.

You are cordially invited to join Woody Williams for an evening of live music, door prizes, drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and a silent auction to benefit this worthy cause. Invited guests include Governor Matt Bevin, Secretary of State Alison Grimes, and other dignitaries.

Event tickets start at just $100 and can be purchased here or through Eventbrite. Donors of just $10 or more will be entered to win all door prize raffles.

All gave some; Some gave all. Give whatever you can afford to support this worthy event.
